| Special Inspections |
|
Make sure when you submit your plans to the local jurisdiction for approval that the required special inspections are listed on the cover sheet.
Your local jurisdiction may require a special inspection form signed by the project owner and engineer to be submitted with the project documents. Special Inspections by an approved inspection agency are required by chapter 17 of the new 2000 International Building Code, the 1999 BOCA National Building Code, 1997 ICBO Uniform Building Code and in miscellaneous chapters throughout the 1999 SBCCI Standard Building Code. These special inspections are required for certain structural welding activities, high strength bolting, concrete designs over specific psi strengths and other activities as may be required by the building official to confirm compliance with the codes. |
