Do not ever throw away your copy of the building, electrical, plumbing or mechanical permits, issued for your home, especially for any remodeling or alteration projects. |

Just because the local jurisdiction has approved your drawings, structural calulations and has issued the building permit does not mean you are out of the woods yet. |

You May Qualify for An Annual Permit |

Some states and local jurisdictions allow certain facilities and institutions to apply for annual building permits to do their alterations and renovations. |

It is common practice for many designers and contractors to assume that if they can just get part of the requirements submitted to the local jurisdiction for a building permit it will put them in line to get an earlier building permit approval. |
